Having a High Credit Score Could Mean Big Savings for You!

At Texas Motors Ford, we want you to shop smarter by saving time and money.

Your credit score is a number used by lenders that represents your credit worthiness and likelihood to repay a credit card or loan. Having a high credit score means you are a borrower who is less likely to default, so a better interest rate can be offered potentially saving you thousands of dollars. A low credit score means you may be considered a poor credit risk, therefore, a higher interest rate and down payment may be required or the credit may be denied altogether.

Knowing your credit score can make shopping for a new vehicle easier, which is why Texas Motors Ford offers Black Book’s Credit Estimator.  The process is fast and easy. We’ll quickly deliver your credit score estimate without asking for your social security number or making any credit bureau inquires.

The credit score provided is an estimate based on the answers you provide and does not use actual data from a credit report. We use a score range which should closely match the credit score provided by a national credit bureau.

The general factors that affect your credit score are:

Your credit score is not affected by non credit-related information such as:
  • Race, color, religion, national origin, sex and marital status
  • Public assistance information
  • Income or employment history
  • Place of residence
  • How much savings you have
  • Interest rate(s) charged on your credit card or other accounts
  • Child or family support
  • Rent payments
  • Inquiries regarding your credit report that are made for promotional, administrative or informational purposes (applications for a new loan or credit, however, are considered.)

Your credit score is not the only consideration in making a loan decision, but it does provide a strong indication of your likelihood to repay a debt. Lenders will have other loan decision guidelines which may include your employment history and your ability to make the payments, among other things. At Texas Motors Ford, we work with many local and national lenders.  Let us go to work for you! Click here to get started!

My Review of Texas Motors Ford:

Best Ford dealership I have ever done business with! Stephen M. And Brian B. we're very helpful and worked great magic to get the numbers where I needed them to be. Had no reason to trade-in my F-150 but after driving the new 6.7L diesel and hanging out with these guys for a minute I decided to go with a great deal on a new truck. They did not push me into anything not did they rush me or put on a show. Great customer service from these guys and they have my business as long as I am driving ford!! 10 Star service. Thanks guys for my new F-250 Lariat!!

This review was just one of many! You can read all of our DealerRater reviews to hear what our other customers have to say. High Five Tour benefiting Wounded Warrior Family Support

For Immediate Release
Texas Motors Ford Welcomes the High Five Tour,
Benefiting Wounded Warrior Family Support

Tuesday, October 2nd the High Five Tour is coming to White Settlement and Texas Motors Ford is proud to be playing host to the road trip event, which raises awareness and funds for Wounded Warriors Family Support. The 2012 Shelby Mustang GT-500 “Super Snake” will be at Texas Motors Ford in White Settlement on Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Wounded Warrior Family Support was founded by John D. Folsom, Colonel, United States Marine Corps, Reserve (Ret.) Their mission is “to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured, or killed during combat operations. These families of our casualties suffer in many ways, some financially, some psychologically.” The organization allows the wounded and/or their families to once again find peace and solace as a family at retreats that Wounded Warrior Family Support provides at no cost. They also financially support marriage counseling programs and partner with Take Flight Farms, a non-profit that provides equine therapy programs.

The High Five Tour is a 48-state road trip that allows Wounded Warrior Family Support to thank the Americans that help make their organization possible. Driving around the country allows them to meat as many Americans as possible and personally thank them for their contributions. The other goal of the tour is to help raise awareness for the organization and their support of military families.

White Settlement and Fort Worth area residents will be able to show their support and donate to Wounded Warrior Family Support by heading over to Texas Motors Ford during the High Five Tour’s stop and donating $5. They can also contribute by texting “highfive” to 20222.

Gas Saving Myths

Gas fluctuates so often, that it’s difficult to find a consistent method of getting affordable gas ALL of the time.  With the emergence of smartphones, we can search the nearby area for gas station prices, but it’s still difficult to consistently find a price we don’t mind paying.  Sure you want to save gas, but there's a lot of bad advice on how to do it. Some of it makes no difference, and some of it can wind up costing you.  So, here’s a look at a few misconceptions:

1.)    Filling Your Tank in the Morning

Many people have heard that filling your gas in the morning is opportune because the fuel is cold.  The theory is that fluids are more dense at lower temperatures, so a gallon of cold gas has more molecules than a gallon of warmer gas.  However, the temperature varies little during the course of the day, so there’s little difference in early gas.

2.)    Changing Your Air Filter

A clean air filter WON’T save you gas.  Engines have sensors that automatically adjust the fuel-air mixture as an increasingly clogged air filter choles off the engine’s air supply.

3.)    Using Premium Fuel

Lately, premium gas has been a hard sell for gas stations.  However, many drivers still fill up with premium gas.  Newer cars for which premium is recommended, but not required, won’t suffer with regular fuel.  The result is a slight reduction in peak horsepower that a normal daily driver won’t even notice.

4.)    Pumping Up Your Tires

Ok.  First and foremost, proper tire inflation is important.  Under-inflated tires can lead to accidents and poor handling.  According to on-the-road driving tests by both Consumer Reports and auto information site Edmunds.com, underinflated tires reduce fuel economy, so proper inflation is key. But you should never over-inflate your tires. They'll get you slightly better fuel economy because there will be less tread touching the road, reducing friction. But that means less grip for braking and turning. The added risk of a crash isn't worth the extra mile a gallon you might gain.

Roadside Assistance Tips

The road can be a dangerous place.  We all take the necessary precautions to create a safe vessel for our daily commute, but in some cases, things are unavoidable.  If you have been the victim of a flat tire, or mechanical mishap, then you’ve experienced that lonely feeling.  You’re stuck on the side of the road, all of your contacts are either busy or too far away for contact, and you feel stranded. Alone.  Roadside assistance has created a safe haven for daily commuters.  It’s a great service that provides assistance to motorists whose vehicles have suffered a mechanical failure that is significant enough to leave them stranded.  In today’s blog, we provide some tips for getting through it.

The first thing you should do is call and establish with the operator what the problem is.  The call is then relayed to the tow driver or emergency officials.  By popping the hood to see what’s wrong or getting out and checking the damage, you can survey the problem.  This gives the officials a general idea of what to expect.  Please, take caution, if you feel as if you’re taking a chance, stay in your vehicle!!

The next thing to do is describe your location.  According to eHow: “Tell the operator where exactly you were driving and where you think you may be on the road. This will help the operator call the closest tow truck company or emergency medical services so that they can get to you as quickly as possible. Turning on your flashers or your headlights and, if you feel safe doing so, put out reflective triangles behind your car to help the tow truck driver find you in a shorter amount of time.”

Information!  Information!  Information! Always keep a copy of all the info you would need for roadside assistance.  One should be in your wallet or purse, while the other should be easily accessible in your vehicle.  This should include the numbers that you would need for the operator, expiration date, and other details.

These are just a few tips for you guys to check out…feel free to comment!
